Boy George puts London Palace up for sale for $18.2 million

Pop star Boy George is seeking to get rid of the London estate he’s owned since 1984, when he bought the lavish mansion for an undisclosed price at the height of his fame, according to the New York Post. Villa Gothic, located in Hampstead and originally known as “The Logs”, was listed for $18.2 million.

The estate spans 5,454 square feet of interior space all in a distinctive architectural blend of Gothic and Italianate styles. After George’s renovations the property has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, and as a Grade II listed Gothic villa dating from 1868, it has also acquired great historical value. More recently, the list also mentions another notable person who lived on the property before Boy George bought it: comedian Marty Feldman, known for his role as Igor in the classic movie “Young Frankenstein.”

The list goes on:

“The property has been carefully renovated and extended over three years under the auspices of F3 Architecture & Interiors in collaboration with multi-award winning designer Kelly Hoppen CBE and features a dramatic central staircase into a triple-height central hall, a striking master suite overlooking Hampstead Heath which contains A bathroom with a giant skylight for the roof and benefits from secluded front and rear gardens as well as secured parking for several off-street vehicles.”

The house is actually two lots that were combined into one after George purchased the adjacent land from singer Sam Smith, a project that led to a protracted legal battle between him and the local authorities.

It’s all over now, and despite living in the house for almost 40 years, the singer is ready to move on, and whoever the next landlord will be the beneficiary of this choice. You can take a look at the property below, in a video from real estate agency Aston Chase:
