The Cyberpunk The franchise got a whole new breath of fresh air with the advent of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners On Netflix earlier this fall, and now there’s one great cosplay show highlighting the main character in its entirety, David Martinez! A sci-fi role-playing game may have been in the works for decades, but it has gained a lot of love in recent years thanks to the success of Cyberpunk 2077 movie video game. Then exploring this video game in a new way was a brand-new anime from Studio Trigger that seemed to revitalize interest in the franchise as a whole thanks to its different style.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Introduced fans to David, a young child caught up in the terrible economy of Night City and thus brought into a violent new world in order to survive and possibly change his life for the better. Fans have seen him struggle with this in various ways over the course of the series with some pretty high ups and some pretty bitter lows. This one-of-a-kind feature film has made him stand out from many of the other anime heroes, and now he’s been revived with some awesome cosplay from artist @Stylouz_Cosplay on Twitter. Evan Valentine of ComicBook.com reviewed the series when it arrived on Netflix earlier this fall, and teased the following: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (which you can find in full here), “…Edgerunners It’s a series that doesn’t shy away from extreme violence, and while some stars will have horrific endings, Trigge was able to help make these scenes even more difficult when it inevitably happens to one of the crew members we’ve come to see over ten episodes. Trigger uses a fluid, lively, and crackling animation style with force along the way, helping to keep your eyes dazed on the screen for fear that you’ll miss a moving cell along the way. “
As for the series itself, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi with Hiromi Wakabayashi working as creative director, and Yoh Yoshinari as character designer and animator, with screenplay adapted from Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko Otsuka. Netflix is officially teasing the series this way, “The series tells a 10-episode stand-alone story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City – a city of the future obsessed with technology and body modification. After losing everything, he survives by being Become an edgerunner – an outlaw mercenary also known as a cyberpunk.”
