Los Angeles — Khloe Kardashian revealed on Tuesday that a tumor was removed from her face recently.
“I’ve seen so many stories about the ever-evolving bandage on my face that some of you are wondering why I’ve been wearing one over the past few weeks,” the reality star, 38, wrote on her Instagram story. A collage of her wearing the patch.
“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as simple as oil, I decided to biopsy it 7 months after realizing it wasn’t budge,” she continued, sharing a close-up photo of her face with a trapped spot.
Kardashian then wrote that two dermatologists had examined the biopsy and saw something she said she considered “extremely rare” for someone her age.
“A few days later I was told I needed to have immediate surgery to remove a tumor from my face,” she wrote, noting that she called the surgeon who was a family friend and someone she knew who would take care of her “incredibly.”
Kardashian said she was “grateful to share” that her surgeon “was able to have it all.” “The margins of the tumor are clear,” she said, and she is now in the “recovery process.”
“So here we go… you’ll keep seeing my bandages and when I’m allowed to, you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation on my cheek from the bunion removed) but until then I hope I can enjoy how wonderfully I put these face bandages on.”
Kardashian said she told her story as a reminder to her followers to “get checked, and frequently” before explaining how she surgically developed skin cancer on her back when she was 19, despite being someone who “wears sunscreen every day, religiously.” […]. “
A mother of two reiterated that she was “grateful” for what was discovered so early and that all she had to show was “a scar that tells a story”.
“Most people are not as fortunate as me and I am forever grateful and thankful,” she wrote.
