University of Houston students protest conservative filmmaker Matt Walsh appearance amid ‘What is a Woman’ documentary screening!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A large crowd gathered at the University of Houston to protest the appearance of Matt Walsh, a conservative speaker and film director considered controversial.

Students were spotted outside the university’s student center, where Walsh’s new documentary What Is a Woman, which looks at gender ideology, was shown.

The UH chapter of Young Conservatives in Texas hosted the event and said they wanted to provide content and events that people would find useful.

However, trans activists argue that the film goes too far and attacks people like them.

One student said, “I mean, I think it’s cool. I think people should make their voices heard.”

UH officials told ABC13 that the speaker was invited to campus by a registered student organization.

The university said it is policy not to approve or reject expressive activity based on the content or the speaker’s point of view.

After the show, Walsh tweeted, in part, “Hundreds of trans and antifa activists attended our show tonight but had absolutely no effect. We packed the house and had a great event.”
