Whoopi Goldberg reveals that she hopes Keke Palmer will join ‘Sister Act 3’

Whoopi Goldberg has high hopes for “Sister Act 3.” On this week’s episode of Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God, The View presenter revealed her top picks for cast members for the upcoming movie and admits she’s drawn Keke Palmer, Lizzo, and potential star Nicki Minaj.

“I will ask Kiki to come. You know, I want everyone to come. I want Lizzo to come,” she told the audience. The news was received with applause. She also shared that she wanted “the girl with the chest” to join the project, referring to the famous rapper Nicki Minaj.

“I want a lot of people who want to have some fun because I really, really, really need to have some fun,” Goldberg continued.

Goldberg will return as the lovable character Delores van Cartier, a former lounge singer turned singing nun, for the third film, which comes 30 years after the original film was released. The EGOT winner collaborated with Tyler Perry to develop the project, and confirmed that the project is well underway with a script that will be finished within the month.

Perry and Goldberg previously collaborated on 2018’s “Nobody’s Fool” with Tiffany Haddish as well as Perry’s 2010 film “For Colored Girls.”

In 2020, Goldberg expressed her gratitude to Berry as a business partner, thanking him for his efforts to pay respect to black actors. She joins a host of actors including Cecily Tyson, Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, who have credited him with revitalizing their careers.

Perry also named the Sound Theater on his 330-acre plot in Atlanta, GA, after her.
