Gotham Knights confirm bad news for console players

Gotham Knights It’s causing some controversy among fans as launch week approaches, especially regarding the game’s performance. FPS (frames per second) is one of the most important things in a game or any other type of video. While most movies tend to display at 24 frames per second, games tend to be in the 30 to 60 frames per second range, with some games offering higher frames per second ranges depending on the hardware and game settings. If you have a low FPS, the game will appear to stutter, feel less smooth, and won’t transfer images in a particularly satisfying way. While 30fps is still popular, many are often willing to sacrifice resolution for a higher FPS in order to have a very smooth gaming experience, especially in games with a lot of action like shooters.

Rumors started circulating earlier today that Gotham Knights It’s locked to 30fps on consoles, which means you won’t be able to get a higher FPS. With many games still at 30fps, this isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a limiting factor and makes the game less easy on some players’ eyes. Gotham Knights Developer Fleur Martyr confirmed on the game’s official Discord channel (via Okami Games on Twitter) that the game will already be limited to 30fps on consoles with no option to change that. They note that due to the massive nature of the game, it won’t be as easy as dropping the resolution to get a better FPS. You can view the official statement below.

“I know many of you are wondering about the availability of a performance mode for Gotham Knights Martyr said. “Because of the kinds of features we have in our game, like providing a fully unrestricted co-op experience in our highly detailed open world, it’s not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS. For this reason, our game doesn’t have a performance/quality toggle option and will run at 30fps. per second on consoles.”

The reactions were really intense. Given the logic, it doesn’t look like a rollback will result in any changes to the FPS, especially before launch. A post-launch patch might be able to offer more options, but it seems highly unlikely at the moment. This may also provide some clarity about why Gotham Knights Canceled for Xbox One and PS4.
