Yu Yu Hakusho’s OVA finally got an English version

Yo Yo Hakusho Now celebrating the 30th anniversary of its original anime release, now there’s an even bigger way to celebrate as the previously unreleased OVA specials finally get an English dubbing! When the anime was celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018, the franchise brought back the Japanese actors Yo Yo Hakusho To adapt two new OVA specials that take on stories from Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga not seen in the anime. There was an announcement that there would be an English dubbed version of these specials as well, but nothing really happened on that front in the years since.

That all started to change when it was revealed earlier this year that the English voice from the original dubbing of Yu Yu Hakusho with Funimation was apparently returning to record these new specials. There have been questions about this next Funimation being absorbed by Crunchyroll, but it has now been revealed that fans will be able to check out OVA dubs as part of the new 30th Anniversary Blu-ray box set released by Crunchyroll early next year.
