Keke Palmer talks about “Sister Law 3”, the fate of “death” for Aziz Ansari

Kiki Palmer threw her name into her “Sister Act 3” hat.

No, it’s not an official audition, but she did show off her vocals by singing an excerpt of “Joyful, Joyful” on the carpet at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

“I’m your girl,” Palmer said. “I am ready.”

“Sister Act” star Whoopi Goldberg recently revealed her dream cast for the third installment of the upcoming comedy The Nun. “I’m going to ask Kiki to come over,” Goldberg said during an appearance on Comedy Central’s “Hell of a Week With Charlamagne tha God,” you know, I want everyone to come. I want Lizzo to come. Nicki Minaj is also on her wish list.

“When I got on The View, Webby and I talked about it,” Palmer said. “I’m definitely here, do you know what I’m saying?”

And she added, “Call me, Whoopi!”

Palmer has also opened up about her work in director Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut “Being Mortal”. In April, Searchlight Pictures halted production with about a month left from shooting after a complaint was made about inappropriate behavior to co-star Bill Murray.

Palmer says she doesn’t know if the movie will ever end. “If anyone could know her,” she said, “it would be dear.” “Obviously we got cut short at one point but I’ll say I’m pretty broken. It’s a great movie. If there’s some way to be able to complete it and save it, I’d like to do it.”

Palmer didn’t address Murray’s controversy but did hint at the possibility that cameras might reappear without him in the photo: “[Ansari] We’ll probably have to do a big rewrite, but I know what we got was gold.”

Saturday’s second annual Academy Gala raised $10 million for the Academy Museum. Julia Roberts, Tilda Swinton, Steve McQueen and Mickey Lee were honored for the evening. Diana Ross was the surprise performer during the event, which was chaired by Halle Berry, Jason Bloom, Ryan Murphy and Lupita Nyong’o and presented by Rolex.
