Aaron Judge may be the all-time captain of the season in MLS…but he continues to suffocate in the playoffs against the Cleveland Guardians.
New York Yankees player Aaron Judge is one of the best players in baseball. After driving the Majors in WAR (10.6), breaking the AL season one-season record in home races (62), driving the majors in RBI (131), and driving the majors in OPS (1.111), he is almost certain to win the American League Prize. MVP in 2022.
But he continues to struggle in the postseason…and looks like a junior contestant against the Cleveland Guardians in the playoffs.
Cleveland Guardians own New York Yankees’ post-season player Aaron Judge
Aaron Judge comes second in the New York Yankees lineup in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians…and the Guardian continues to own it.
In the first half of match 3, the judge tightened on the goalkeeper, who kicked off bowler Triston Mackenzie. With his first hit in the game, Judge is 0 against 9 in the series with eight hits. This isn’t the first time a judge has been horrible against the Guardians in a post-season run.
In his run now against Cleveland in the postseason, he’s 2 for 38 with 28 attacks. You read that right: 2 for 38 with 28 strokes.
He’s been better in post-season against the other teams but still not great by any means.
In 37 postseason careers Entering Game 3 tonight, Judge hits .217/ .327/ .476 with 58 hits. While he was chasing 62 times at home, he also struggled. In his 13 regular season games, he scored two goals at home, but averaged 0.216 hits and 15 hits on 37.
The Yankees and Guardians are tied up in a single ALDS game but if the judge doesn’t start hitting the Yankees, New York will have serious ALDS trouble… and the judge could damage his post-season reputation due to his inability to handle the big spot.
