REinvent scores AMC Networks deal for refugee drama ‘Lost’

Cannes – REinvent International Sales has sold refugee drama “Lost” to AMC Networks for Spain and Portugal.

The Scandi Production and Distribution board presents the title to buyers at this week’s Mipcom TV Market in Cannes.

The drama by Ulf Ryberg (“Headhunters” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”) tells the story of a truck driver who smuggles a group of Syrian refugees to Sweden in his truck. A disturbing phone call from his soon-to-be ex-wife leaves the refugees struggling for air, when his mind drifts away from them.

The series is directed by Tova Magnusson (“Most Disadvantaged”) and produced by Patrick Rayburn (“Backstabbing for Beginners”).

This Swedish-language film was produced by Unlimited Stories where Ryborn is co-founder and producer. Stars Peter Vitanen, Phil Virtanen, Sandra Stojlikowicz, Wilhelm Blomgren, Shaniz Hama Ali.

The six-hour, one-hour series will be released on November 7. On the Swedish publisher SVT.

“We are thrilled to be working with AMC Networks on ‘The Lost,’ and we are sure this high-quality SVT crime series has found a great place with them,” said Helen Oro, Director of Sales and Marketing at REinvent.

Focusing on new Scandinavian content, REinvent’s Mipcom roster also includes “Outlier” authors Arne Berggren and Kristine Berg’s new thriller series “Trace” as well as “The Big Fix,” which premiered in September on SVT. The gambling drama was created by Dennis Magnuson, co-writer of Cannes’ winner “Partizan” in 2020.

REinvent’s Mipcom roster includes two series produced by the Swedish company Breakable Films. Both directed and written by Lena Ostrom (“So Damn Easy Going”).

“Sleep Around” is a youth LGBTQ series starring actress and feminist activist Ulrikke Falch (“Skam”). The relationship drama is produced by Breakable Films with Art & Bob Television. It premiered on Discovery+ in December.

“Out of Touch,” co-written by Åström with Marja Nyberg, is set to premiere on C More later this year. The romantic drama stars Sarah Sherby (“UFO Sweden”) and Hans Vohlin (“With One Eye Open”).
