Wild Bunch Boards “Arcadia” Thriller Science Fiction Series

Wild Bunch TV has stepped up to its high-concept sci-fi thriller series, “Arcadia” from Belgian production panel, jonnydepony (“Blackout”, “Transport”).

The term Arcadia, created by Philippe de Schipper and Bas Adriansen, refers to a post-global catastrophe society in which the rights and entitlements of its citizens are determined by their outcomes. Life is good as long as you are “healthy, focused and active”.

Four sisters, Luz, Millie, Alex and Hannah, held the highest scores except for Luz. Their father, who is anxious to save Luz from being expelled to the outside world, changes her grades but is arrested. He was expelled from Arcadia and put the entire family on probation, their grades lowered. The question now is whether they can get their old lives back.

De Schepper was the show writer for the 10-part Flemish-language thriller series Blackout, set in Belgium as an act of sabotage plunges the country into darkness. The Prime Minister receives an ominous message: Bring back the power and your daughter will die.

Adriaensen is the co-screenwriter of “Blackout” whose other credits include “Vermist” and “Missing People Unit”. “Arcadia” has a notable cast led by Lyn Van Rooyen (“Beau Séjour”, “Tabula Rasa”), Martin Heijmans (Emmy Award winner for “Ramses”) and Monique Hendrix (“Heirs of the Night”).
