The draw for the Women’s World Cup will take place before next summer’s tournament on Saturday 22 October. Here’s what you need to know and how to watch it.
The Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand, will take place in the Final Draw on Saturday at the Otea Center in Auckland, New Zealand.
FIFA expanded the tournament from 24 to 32 for the first time next year. Only 29 countries that have qualified so far are scheduled to participate.
The remaining three countries will be decided in a series of 10-team play-offs between federations, scheduled to take place in New Zealand between February 18 and February 23, 2023.
32 countries will be grouped into eight groups. The seeded teams, which means they cannot play with each other in the group stage, are defending champions the United States, European champions England, and co-hosts Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, France and Spain.
The tournament will kick off on July 20, 2023, with the final scheduled for August 20 in Sydney.
