Streamer provides update after horrific TwitchCon hit

Earlier this month, Adriana Chechik broke her back during an accident at TwitchCon. Over the past few days, Sheshik has given updates about the situation and the surgery she underwent. On October 13, Sheshik shared a video of herself walking after the surgery. Just taking those few steps was apparently “so stressful” that she slept all day. On October 16, Sheshik was able to leave the hospital and, in a follow-up tweet, revealed that she was finally able to shower, albeit without help. Clearly, she still has a long way to go on her way to recovery!

Chechik’s walking video can be found in the tweet embedded below. As with the original video of Sheshik’s injury, readers are advised that it can be difficult to watch.

Chechik’s injury occurred after a streamer jumped into a foam pit in a Lenovo Legion booth at TwitchCon. In a video shared by streamer Jake Lucky, the hole appears to be fairly shallow, offering little protection from the concrete floor. After Chechik’s injury, the foam pit in the booth was closed, but the sink wasn’t the only one reporting injuries; Prior to the accident involving Chechik, streamer LochVaness dislocated her knee and sprained her ankle after jumping into a pit.

Chechik has discussed the possibility of taking legal action against TwitchCon over its injuries, although no new has been reported in this regard. Any legal action will likely be postponed as she continues to recover from her injuries. It is unclear exactly how the legal case might end, or whether there will be some kind of settlement. Regardless, Chechik’s videos and updates show just how severe her injuries are, and how dangerous her foam pit is at TwitchCon. We hope this will reduce the chances of similar incidents in the future.
