Welcome to the second season of Wrexham announced by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

dead list Actor Ryan Reynolds and It’s always sunny in Philadelphia Creator Rob McElhenney has attracted football fans around the world, after announcing that actors/producers/entrepreneurs are buying their ‘Futbol Club’. The Wrexham AFC was one of the older clubs around, but its name certainly hasn’t been more popular than it is now, thanks to Reynolds, McElhenney and Welcome to Wrexhamthe hit docu series about rebuilding the team (and the city that supports it), which ran on FX and Hulu earlier this fall.

Now, in a new post-season update from Welcome to Wrexham, Ryand Reynolds and Rob McElhenny have made the following big announcements about the series:

  • Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 officially.
  • All episodes of Welcome to Wrexham Season 1 are now streaming on Hulu.
  • Wrexham AFC matches streaming on ESPN 2 – starting today! (at the time of writing this)

As McElhenney mentioned in a video post, Welcome to Wrexham has been nominated for two Critics Choice Awards, and received a great new score at Rotten Tomatoes. More than that, though, both the team’s factual purchase and the docu series about it have been met with serious scrutiny – particularly by UK football fans, where the sport, its team and the entire culture of FiFa as a religion of many fans, communities (and obviously) entire towns Sometimes.

While no one is completely above criticism, Reynolds and McElhenney have proven to be seemingly in the court of public opinion when it comes to Welcome to Wrexham: The series has been unabashedly revealing about the inexperience of two celebrities on the project, and has scored how far that. Actual nurturing of the city and its residents they developed by making real contacts with the real people who live and breathe Wrexham Football. McElhenney was particularly good at linking UK football culture with the harsh sports culture of his hometown of Philadelphia, and their dedication to the (currently undefeated!) Eagles NFL team.

That’s all there is to say: Welcome to Wrexham, it has succeeded in satisfying old football fans around the world, and sparking the curiosity of American fans who have never been involved in the sport or its culture. It’s another brand win for Ryan Reynolds, another successful Rob McElhenney show, and an ongoing story that actually has the potential for some real-world magic.

Welcome to Wrexham Streaming FX on Hulu.
