Final Fantasy 16 is getting promising development updates

Final Fantasy 16 It still doesn’t have a release date yet, but the game received a promising update this week from the producer and director who indicated that development is going smoothly. It’s in the “house extension” of development, a pair of updates shared this week have been confirmed, with Final Fantasy fans also getting a new trailer showing more of the game while they wait for the release date to be announced and whatever else Square Enix has to do bragged.

Development updates have been posted via the Twitter account of the new Final Fantasy game with one coming from producer Naoki Yoshida and the other from director Hiroshi Takai. The former provided most of the context on where the game is currently in terms of its development and indicated that we’ll learn more about it soon through an upcoming press session.

“In terms of development, the team has gone beyond the corner and into the home range, and is currently focusing its efforts on debugging, adjusting, polishing and improving,” Yoshida said. “For the promotion, over the next few weeks, Principal Hiroshi Takai, Creative Director Kazutoyo Mihiro, and Localization Director Michael Christopher Koji Fox will be interviewing several media outlets from around the world to provide more information, so be sure to keep your eyes off those too! “

Takai echoed some of those comments in his own update while saying the game is finally becoming “something special.”

“With the match coming to a close, the team has turned its full attention to the final correction and adjustments,” Takai said. “Now that things are starting to come together, the game is starting to set up to be something really special.”

Considering that the game is supposed to release in the summer of 2023, one would expect the exact release date to be announced soon as well. It’s worth noting that the Game Awards are coming out in the next few months, so if this reveal is tied to an event, it sounds as good a place as any to expect.
