Khlo Kardashian joins support of the Jewish Community after Kanye West’s anti-Semitic remarks

Following an increase in antisemitic occurrences in the Los Angeles region over the weekend, celebrities including Khlo Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, and Amy Schumer are among those showing support for Jews.

The response to Jessica Seinfeld‘s Instagram post on Sunday came in response to remarks made earlier this month by Kanye West, who declared that he intended to “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” in now-deleted social media posts.

“If you don’t know what to say, you can just say this in your feed,” Seinfeld wrote, “I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people.”

Late on Sunday, Kardashian re-posted the phrases across her social media accounts, and Reese Witherspoon commented on Twitter.

“Anti-semitism in any form is deplorable. In person. Online. Doesn’t matter where. It’s hate and it’s unacceptable,” the Oscar winner tweeted on Sunday. “Completely understand why my Jewish friends/ colleagues are frightened for their families. This is a very scary time.”

The reaction that Kanye’s words provoked

One day before, antisemitic signs and the slogan “Kanye is right about the Jews” were displayed on banners that were flown above a 405 Freeway overpass.

Other white nationalist posters have reportedly surfaced on 101 Freeway overpasses in Ventura County numerous times this year, according to KTLA.

All of the action is a result of an increase of antisemitic animosity.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, such crimes reached an all-time high last year with 2,717 assault, harassment, and vandalism reports and an increase of 61% in attacks against synagogues and Jewish community centers.
