House of Dragon Star Olivia Cooke Addresses Alicent’s Cersei Comparisons

After watching the first season of Dragon HouseIt’s easy for some Game of Thrones fans to compare Alicent Hightower to Cersei Lannister. Both are queens who put their children above everything else, often pulling the threads of major events in Westeros from behind the Iron Throne. While they hold similar positions, and sometimes exhibit similar behaviour, the two cannot be different. At least, that’s how House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke sees things.

next Dragon HouseKwok spoke at the end of season one on Sunday diverse About the events of the season, as well as her time playing Aliscent thus far. When asked about Cersei’s comparisons, Cook said there are a lot more differences between the characters than people think.

“They will always be compared. In online discourse, it tends to be more black and white who is the hero and the villain,” Cook explained. “I think they’re really different, though, and I did limit the amount of wine I drank in scenes because I didn’t want the comparison to be too transparent. What Lena Headey did with Cersei was pretty cool. She was one of my favorite characters, because on the Although she is very hated, she is driven by the enduring love of her children. By these standards, they both would do anything for their children. But I think Aliscent suffers from anxiety and self-doubt a lot, and I don’t think Cersei has that at all. She completely believes in everything A blow to her. I don’t think Alicent has that at all. She has been beaten up by the patriarchy she lives in, by her children, by trying to make things right endlessly and walking such a narrow and straight line. She has put herself under tremendous pressure. .You can see Aliscent swinging at the seams the whole time, while Cersei is so strong and adorable all the way.”

Is Aliscent evil in the house of the dragon?

nothing in Dragon House It is black and white. It’s easy to see Aliscent as a villain, especially as she’s working against Rhinera. She’s done some pretty terrible things over the course of the show, but she’s also a character that people can sympathize with. Alicent aims to protect her family more than she is trying to control, and that’s not exactly a malicious trait.

Over the course of the series, we’ll see more and more layers added to Alicent Hightower, and it’s likely to be more and more sinister than it is now.
