Nintendo Switch Online reveals a new free game experience

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have a new free game trial to check out this week. Starting on October 26, players will have the opportunity to play the full version of Obakidoro!, which usually retails for $19.99. The beta will run until November 1st at 11:59 PM PT. Subscribers will get 100 platinum points for participating in the trial, and the game will be offered at a 50% discount from the start of the trial until November 13 at 11:59 PM PT. As with all of these experiences, progression from the trial version will carry over to the paid version if purchased.

Nintendo announced the experiment via the company’s official Twitter account. This tweet can be found embedded below, and readers interested in participating in the experience can learn more over here.

For those who are not familiar OBAKEIDORO!, It is an asymmetrical action game where humans have to try to hide and avoid being caught by a monster in three-minute matches. The monster possesses a number of skills to capture its human opponents, while humans can use lantern attacks to try to fend off the creature. The premise is somewhat similar to titles like Friday the 13th: The Game, but the ESRB’s “E-for-all” rating makes it a more family-friendly show for the Halloween season. The game also offers support for single player, local cooperation, and online play.

Nintendo Switch Online free trials are the perfect way for gamers to try something they might not have checked out otherwise! With the huge number of games currently available on the eShop, it’s easy to get titles like Obakidoro! to slip through the cracks. However, the game has garnered solid reviews over the past few years, and this experience could attract a much larger audience. For fans who really shine OBAKEIDORO!, Developer Free Style has also released a number of DLC packs on the eShop, with different character options available for purchase.
