Wakanda Writer Stephanie Williams has spoken about growing suri since the main events Black Panther series. Marvel.com Sit down with the writer to discuss the book in detail. Paco Medina also worked on the first edition. Shuri plays a big role in the books. Evan Narcisse and artist Natasha Bustos also contributed stories for The History of the Black Panther. Filling the landmarks of this world has been a powerful solution for all of these contributors. As Wakanda evolves, so does the princess of the country.
“It’s definitely seen a huge amount of growth in such a short time, and it was very surprising to witness. It has grown in ways that some characters take decades to achieve, and although it was fast, it was still recognizable,” Williams recalls. “Shuri always had a penchant for technology, never held her tongue, was highly confident, was a skilled fighter, fiercely committed, and very protective of her home. All these aspects that make Shuri a fun person to read or write have gone up. If there were anything Shuri’s development has served her character by showing that she can carry her own stories regardless of who her brother is and without the mantle of the Black Panther.”
When readers meet Shuri in WAKANDA #1, she is in the middle of dealing with all the drama that has unfolded and yet to come due to her brother’s actions. [in the current BLACK PANTHER series], “The writer scoffed.” In true Shurey fashion, she has thrown herself into her work, but Queen Ramunda knows best and is there to persuade her daughter to face her true fears.”
