Twitter blames N-Word Surge after Musk’s acquisition of Trolling campaign

Racist trolls are rejoicing Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter — and an “organized” cadre of them aims to make fun of social networking policies that ban hate speech, according to the company.

Twitter N-word instances increased nearly 500% from the previous average after Musk closed on a $44 billion acquisition, to me The Princeton-based Network Infection Research Institute, which tracks “social cyberthreats.”

In response to the increase in N-word occurrences, Yoel Roth, Twitter’s Head of Safety and Integrity, on Saturday posted an announcement route Blame the hateful behavior on a “phishing campaign”. According to Roth, over the past 48 hours, Twitter has seen “a small number of accounts post a large number of tweets that include insults and other derogatory terms.” He said more than 50,000 tweets repeatedly using the phrase “certain slander” – an obvious reference to the N-word – came from just 300 accounts, nearly all of which are “incorrect”.

“Twitter’s policies haven’t changed. Hateful behavior has no place here. We are taking steps to put an end to an organized effort to get people to believe we have it,” Roth said.

NBA star LeBron James earlier Saturday chirp that he has serious concerns about the sharp rise in hate speech on Twitter, citing research on the rise in the use of the N word. “I don’t know Elon Musk, and tbh, I don’t care much who owns Twitter. But I will say that if that’s true, I hope he takes He and his people take this very seriously because it’s scary.” James wrote on Saturday: “There are a lot of inappropriate people who say hate speech is freedom of speech.”

In response to James, Musk referred to Roth’s thread about it. Roth noted that Twitter does not have our rules prohibiting hateful behavior. This includes targeting people with inhumane content and slander. This does not mean that we always have a list of forbidden words. Context matters. For example, our policies are written to protect recovered speech.

On Friday, Musk claimed that Twitter would form a new content oversight board with “broadly diverse views” and that the company would not make major decisions about content or that recalculation would occur before then. Musk confirmed this point later in the day: “To be very clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies.”

Meanwhile, it appeared that Musk, the world’s richest person and notorious for phishing, had violated Twitter’s policies on misinformation.

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton commented on the brutal attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, by QAnon conspiracy theorists. “The Republican Party and its horns now regularly spread hate and distorted conspiracy theories,” I wrote. “It is appalling, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow.”

Musk responded to Clinton’s tweet on Sunday, writing, “There is little chance this story is more than meets the eye” — linking to an article that baselessly posits a far-right, anti-gay conspiracy theory.

Musk’s tweet appears to have crashed the site’s web servers, making them inaccessible. “I informed Elon of a baseless conspiracy tweet,” chirp Attorney Richard Signorelli, former Assistant US Attorney.

Musk promptly fired the Twitter CEO and other top executives last Thursday, Terminations allegedly were for ’cause’ In order to avoid paying tens of millions of golden parachute payments.

In the next few days, Musk plans large-scale layoffs in Twitter and the New York Times mentioned. The round of job cuts will happen before the November 1 date when employees were due to receive stock grants as part of their compensation, the Times reported, and by laying off employees before that date, “Mr. Musk may avoid paying the grants.”
