Could Rasheed really be a compelling main character?

AMC’s Interview with the vampire It’s nearing the end of its first season and with the season coming to a close, fans of both the adaptation and Anne Rice are… Vampire Chronicles A series of novels attempts to discover how to put together some of the different pieces of the puzzle – particularly when it comes to one specific character, an adult. He plays the role of Asad Zaman, Rashid is a character who does not appear in the character of Rice Interview with the vampire Novel, but very present in the AMC series, working as companion to Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) in the present day. Now, with only two episodes left in season one (one if you believe Episode 6 is already available to AMC+ subscribers before the premiere to air on Sunday, November 6), fans have more questions than ever about this mysterious number. So much protection for Louis – that some believe he could be a major novel character in disguise.

Heading to Episode 6, many fans of Interview with the vampire We’re starting to wonder who exactly Rashid is. as fans on r / interview vampire The subreddit notes, Rashid is a mysterious figure in that he is always seen wearing gloves, has no vampire eyes, and Louis has been seen feeding on him, but at the same time we’ve never seen Rashid in direct sunlight, has extensive knowledge of vampire matters, and is devoted Incredibly for Lewis. For some fans of Rice’s novels, while the details don’t quite fit in, they believe the character could actually be Armand, a main character from Interview with the vampire a novel.

In the novel, Armand is a vampire who was originally turned 17 in the late 15th century by the vampire Marius. He goes on to become the leader of the Parisian vampires and later joins the Theaters des Vampires. He intersects with Louis when Claudia and Louis speak on stage, (without going into too much detail here to avoid potential major spoilers) ultimately being partially responsible for Claudia’s death. Armand ends up leaving with Louis and they remain buddies for several decades before they part ways when it’s clear that Louis hasn’t come to terms with Claudia’s loss. It is also worth noting that in the novel, after the events with Louis, Daniel tries to find Lestat himself and is instead found by Armand, and in the end, Armand turns Daniel into a vampire.

While Armand’s details from the book don’t seem to line up exactly with Rashid in the series, the series did create some big changes for the main characters, especially Daniel Molloy and Claudia. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to think that the series could make some changes to Armand as well, and it would explain, to some extent, why Rashid seems so loyal to Louis, as in the book, Armand Louis sees. As a reminder and connection to the modern world that he could not be a part of on his own.

However, the idea that Rashid could be Armand isn’t the only fan theory swirling around the character. Others have suggested that Rashid’s extensive knowledge – as well as Louis’ owning one of Marius’ paintings – could be an indication that Rashid is the series’ take on David Talbot, a character in the Rice Vampire Chronicles, who is actually a member of the Talamasca, a secret organization that researches and investigates On the Paranormal – an organization that AMC viewers will likely find out more about in the next series in its timeless universe, Anne Rice Mayfair The Wizards.

Interview with the vampire It airs on Sundays on AMC.
