Mark Strong to join Joel Kinman in ‘The Silent Hour’ at AGC Studios

British actor Mark Strong, nominated by the BAFTA, will star alongside former actor Joel Kinman in the crime thriller “The Silent Hour” in Boston, which will be directed by Brad Anderson (“Beirut”).

Stewart Ford Stewart Ford Studios AGC will finance and produce with producer Eric Paquette’s Meridian Pictures, and the project is sold at the ongoing American Film Market.

Strong can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed gun “Tár” and is best known for “1917”, “Cruella”, the Kingsman franchise, and “Zero Dark Thirty”.

The film, based on an original screenplay by Dan Hall, follows Kinnaman (“Suicide Squad”), who plays a Boston police detective who has an accident on the job that leaves him with a hearing impairment. Sixteen months later, he’s now a translator for the department and must battle with his friend and partner (Strong) a team of corrupt cops trying to eliminate a deaf murder witness in the apartment building you live in.

Paquette will produce alongside AGC and the film will go into production in early 2023 and is actively working on acting.

The transaction was negotiated by Jesica Kovacevich and Jordan Naftalis at WME on behalf of Mark Strong, Senior Vice President Legal and Commercial Anant Tamirisa and Chief Creative Officer Michael Ewing on behalf of AGC.

Strong is represented by Markham, Froggate, Irwin and WME.

Currently in post-production for AGC, Pierre Morel’s action comedy “Freelance” stars John Cena, Alison Brie, and Juan Pablo Rapa. Christian Dieter’s family comedy “The Present” starring Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear; Noma Perry “The Perfect Find” starring Gabriel Union and Gina Torres for Netflix; Debuting Chris Pine “Pulman” starring Pine, Annette Bening, Danny DeVito, Jennifer Jason Lee, and Dewanda Wise; Christopher Smith’s supernatural thriller “The Dedication” stars Jenna Malone and Danny Houston, and will be released by IFC Midnight in North America. Director Richard Linklater’s “Hitman” starring Glenn Powell and Adria Arjona is currently in production, and director Anna Kendrick’s debut “The Dating Game” is in pre-production.
