Marvel announces 2023 FCBD titles, teases new Avengers/X-Men team

It might still be 2022, but that doesn’t stop Marvel Comics from announcing its list of 2023 titles for Free Comic Book Day. Also, hidden in the advertisement is the excitement of a new Marvel series, potentially starring members of the Avengers and X-Men. Instead of one or two FCBD titles for new readers eager to dive into, Marvel offers four unique titles to choose from. Along with showcasing major events such as Fall of X and Summer of Symbiotes, Marvel highlights creators and characters from different cultures, communities, and identities in Marvel sounds #1, kid-friendly reading in Speedy and friends #1, and the Spider-Man and Venom romp.

Free Comic Book Day 2023: Avengers / X-Men No. 1 is where fans can get their first clues to “a new superhero lineup for a new team book to be released next year”. Marvel is also promising a preview of the upcoming mystery project of Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Shetty. The first time fans heard about Hickman and Scheitty collaborating together came at San Diego Comic-Con. A simple teaser artwork has been released featuring the phrase “What happens when the forces that meet the natural order of things meet?” The other key piece of information was that the series would start in 2023. Since then, we’ve seen character designs hinting at a project featuring Doctor Strange.

What is Marvel’s Secret Avengers / X-Men series?
