Gaining momentum with a win in Game Three of the World Series, the Philadelphia Phillies watched the Houston Astros return in favor in historic fashion Wednesday night.

With Houston Astros starting pitcher Christian Jaffer spinning relentlessly during his 6.0 innings, there was little room for error for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game Four. World Championships 5-0 decision.

With Tuesday’s 7-0 win, many around the Phillies organization were thrilled that the franchise didn’t have to use some of its best thinners during the blast victory, saving them later in the week when they might be called up in a tough situation.

That was the case on Wednesday with Alvarado going into the match on break from Aaron Nola with bases loaded and no teams in the fifth. However, the 27-year-old Southerner crushed Yordan Alvarez with his first throw, and things didn’t get much better for him from there. By the time the inning was over, five runs had been scored and the Astros had dominated the game by taking advantage of an ineffective Alvarado.

As Wednesday’s outing approached, Alvarado allowed three winning runs in 9.0 innings after the season ended. Houston tagged him for two rounds in one frame in a possibly series-run tour.
