Call of Duty Planning Premium Edition for 2023

Publisher released today Third Quarter Earnings ReportActivision revealed that it plans to have a “premium version” in the Call of Duty series in 2023. Of course, no specific details were revealed about the game, or what form it will take, but this should be exciting news for fans of the series!

This language makes it sound like it’s going to be a brand new $70 Call of Duty game; However, there seems to be some disagreement over that! in Twitter exchange with CharlieIntelBloomberg’s Jason Schreyer reiterated his previous report that the next full version of the series won’t actually come until 2024. Instead, Schreyer claims that the 2023 “premium release” will be a huge amount of paid-for content. Modern Warfare II, developed by Sledgehammer Games. The idea is that it will be “large enough to sell at full price.” Meanwhile, Treyarch is said to be still working on 2024’s Call of Duty.

Until Activision clarifies the situation, fans will only have to speculate. There has been a lot of controversy over the annual Call of Duty release schedule and its impact on the quality of the series. Many fans wouldn’t mind seeing the series take a break from an all-new entry in 2023, so the premium content might be perfect. However, the $70 price point may be less attractive!
