Ravens Hall-of-Famer stands up to star Kyrie Irving on Nets . controversy

Ravens Hall of Famer Ed Reed has sided with Kyrie Irving over his controversial social media posts with a misleading defense of the Nets star.

Kyrie Irving is currently serving a suspension for refusing to disavow anti-Semitic elements in a movie he shared on social media.

The whole story about Irving’s behavior was an embarrassment to the NBA and the Nets. Unfortunately, the embarrassment does not end with Irving.

Now Irving is being defended by another major sports figure: former Ravens safety and NFL Hall of Famer Ed Reed.

Reed took to Twitter on Sunday to express his support for Irving with a slew of misleading “mediation”.

Ravens Hall of Famer Ed Reed disappointingly defends Kyrie Irving

“These boys make business decisions, not worry about people! I stand by #KyrieIrving We get hurt every day! Stop acting like the Black folks aren’t treated any worse than anyone else. All (apologies) prove it #CarryOn,” he tweeted Reid.

He went on to post a series of Instagram posts with questionable content, including a video showing a Jewish man hitting and vomiting on a black woman.

What are we talking about? Reed wrote in a tweet about the video.

“This tweet makes you angry,” he wrote, linking the video on Instagram again.

“I love all people but that’s what we get! When we’re only,” he wrote, quoting the tweet of one of his other tweets on the video.

The misleading nature of Reed’s defense is clear. In criticizing Irving, no one has said that the black community is not harmed by intolerance in the community. No one has argued that the Jewish community deserves more defense than the black community. Nobody said it was wrong to spread anti-Semitic messages but it’s okay to spread anti-black sentiment. Reed swings the windmills here.

Worst of all, while he insisted on his love for all, he promoted content clearly aimed at further dividing the Jewish and black communities.

not finished.

“Make no mistake about it bro we go through it we go through it! I don’t wish pain on anyone not in life or videos. We are all in deep pain every reason to have conversations and not to hide our hands!” added Reed hours later.

Like Irving, Reed has a huge platform and stands as a role model in his community. It’s a shame to see him fall into the trap of “whataboutism” instead of really practicing what he preaches about love to the world.
