The victory parade at the Astros after winning the World Championships was marked by more than a spirited celebration as two women got into a fistfight between the crowd.
Sports do a great job of bringing people together. We saw it on Monday as a huge crowd turned out to celebrate the Astros’ victory in the World Championship.
Unfortunately, sports fans embarrass themselves in the worst ways sometimes. We also saw it on Monday as the fans in the crowd walked into the Victory Parade in a fight.
The orange-clad onlookers watched and took video footage while two women were falling for unknown reasons.
Two women quarrel in the Astros victory parade
Imagine you’re wasting your time fighting another fan while you’re supposed to be celebrating something as important as a world title. Whatever those women were fighting for couldn’t be worth it.
This was the Astros’ second title and first since their controversial win in 2017. This 2017 title was surrounded by controversy due to the Houston sign-stealing scandal. This gave the team some redemption and legitimacy.
Making it even more special, the Astros have lost their two previous World Championship appearances. In 2019 they fell into the hands of citizens. In 2021 they failed to face the Braves.
This time, Jeremy Pena and his buddies reached the top of the mountain by outselling the Velez in six matches. They did so despite trailing 2-1 after a certain victory in Philadelphia in Game Three.
From that point on, everything was Astros. The cast threw a combined hit into Game 4 and then finished limiting the Velez to just three runs for the remainder of the series. Pena ended up winning the World Series MVP Award for his outstanding performance, including racing at home in Game 5.
We hope the rest of the fans who came out to celebrate the victory can enjoy the day more than these two women can.
