Pinocchio’s new Guillermo del Toro trailer released by Netflix

Film director Guillermo del Toro has been astounding audiences for decades with his endless amounts of creativity, and after winning several Academy Awards, water shapeit only got busier, which includes the development of a completely new model Pinocchio for Netflix. While many audiences may be familiar with the tale, del Toro is sure to put his own spin on the famous adventure, and also features the filmmaker as he delves into a new world where he uses stop-motion animation to tell the long story, having previously used this medium for hunters TV series. Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro and award-winning pausing legend Mark Gustafson re-imagine Carlo Collodi’s classic story of the legendary wooden boy through an eccentric tour that finds Pinocchio on an enchanting adventure that transcends realms and reveals life – the giving of the power of love.

The film stars Ewan McGregor as Sebastian J. Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, Gregory Mann as Pinocchio, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Bourne Gorman as Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.

While del Toro may be known for more horror-oriented stories, the director shared years ago when the film was announced how much this story affected him.

“No art form has influenced my life and work more than animation, and no character in history has had as deep a connection to me as Pinocchio,” del Toro said when Netflix announced the film in 2018. Pinocchio is an innocent soul with an uncaring father and gets lost in a world he can’t understand. He embarks on an extraordinary journey that leaves him with a deep understanding of his father and the real world. I’ve wanted to make this movie for as long as I can remember.
