Quantum Leap star Ernie Hudson reveals the one thing he wants from the reboot series

cast Ghostbusters They got their chance to move the franchise forward while also considering her past Ghostbusters: The Afterlife. Now, Ernie Hudson hopes they can do the same Quantum leap. The NBC series, a continuation of the fan-favorite show of the same name, appears to be tolerating the idea of the original series’ cliffhanger ending. in Quantum leap, Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) time traveler, “jumping” into the lives and bodies of others in order to help change their destinies for the better. Beckett couldn’t control the jumps, and ended up stranded in time, hoping the next jump would finally bring him home. Unfortunately for Beckett (and fans), the final episode proved that Sam was never able to get it back.

Hudson’s character, “Magic” Williams, has a very personal reason for wanting to bring Sam Beckett home: When he was younger, during the original series, Sam jumped into magic during the Vietnam War, in an experience that saved the lives of both Magic and Sam’s brother himself. Speaking with ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian, Hudson confirmed that he wants to shut down Sam.

“Well, that probably depends on any negotiations with SB and NBC,” Hudson said. “I’m definitely a huge fan of Scott, and I’d love to see that happen. I think fans would love to see that happen. I don’t really know what goes into it; all I know is that I would do anything to get a chance to work with him, but also to see him come back and be a part of privilege.”

In the years since the finale, some fans have continued to mourn the series’ early cancellation, and the fact that Sam was stranded in time. Others have argued that there is some kind of happy ending to the way Sam accepted his role as a temporary guardian angel. For Hudson (and Magic), the former has a little more weight than the latter.

“I think it would be a huge plus if the fans had a chance to see it [Sam]Hudson added. “The fact that he’s left out there in the ether, wherever the time is, it just doesn’t feel good. It didn’t work well for Magic at first, and that’s partly why he’s so committed to getting this project up and running. I’d like to see that happen.”

you can see Quantum leap Mondays at 10PM EST/PT on NBC.
