George RR Martin indicated that he could return to a long abandoned area Game of thrones Draft – and no, not some sort of new undertaking to end The Winds of Winter and the last book in A Song of Ice and Fire. No, George R. R. Martin knows he might pick up the pen one day and finally get back to the thing that helped push him down that path – Game of thronesTurtle story.
Director Kevin Smith did a special with George RR Martin called for it Curious George: An Evening with George R.R. Martin and Kevin Smith. During that session with Martin and Smith, the former jokingly remembered how he started writing the first Game of thrones A book while dealing with some horrific deaths of his pet turtle!
In a fascinating tale, Martin reveals how his imaginative imagination began at the age of five, when he was poor and spent days playing with his pet turtles, which then led him to conjure up a world first. Game of thrones:
“We lived on projects. We didn’t have a lot of money…and you weren’t allowed to have dogs or cats on projects. But of course I was a kid, I wanted a pet, so I got turtles,” Martin explained. “Dime turtles that I bought from Woolworths or Kersges, and they came in these little plastic pots that were half water and half pebbles with a fake palm tree in the middle. And it so happened that you could put two of these side dishes – next to the patio of this toy castle that I own. So I put Turtles in the Castle of Games and then decided they were all kings and knights and other things I’d seen since they lived in a castle. On TV in Robin Hood and King Arthur shows.”
Martin continued, “The thing about turtles stocking a dime… is that they died very easily.” “They only cost fifteen cents or something, and they were giving you turtle food to feed them, I don’t know if that was the healthiest food…and like a month after that they would die.”
So what did George RR Martin do with the tragedy of the death of his beloved pets? He turned it into a violent medieval social and political fiction, of course:
“…But I was so upset that my turtle kept dying and then I said ‘Well, why are you dying?’ I give them turtle food, they have water “…and I decided they were killing each other to compete for the turtle’s throne,” Martin revealed. “So my first Game of Thrones was about turtles killing and stabbing each other, and I started writing stories about that as well. So ‘Turtle Castle’ is a prequel that I might come back to one of these days. Be like Game of Thrones but with turtles.”
He’s joking, of course, but it’s kind of a sexy joke. In fact, Martin owes his millions of fans with the ending of the book series, which is long-awaited.
