A crowd of fans of Timothée Chalamet closed the premiere of “Bone and Everything”

The Milan cannibal romance “Bones and All” premiered Saturday night’s red carpet activities to the detriment of a massive crowd of Timothée Chalamet fans who turned out hoping to catch a glimpse of the movie’s star.

Local police closed the red carpet outside the Space Odeon Cinema after the gathering swelled to the point of raising safety concerns. While the premiere ran in limited capacity, members of the press were turned away. Then the photos of the attendees were taken inside the venue. Chalamet was not printed. The film continued to be shown as planned with its scheduled presentation.

The Milan premiere marks the latest high-profile event for “Bones and All,” which debuted in Italy at the Venice Film Festival in September, preceded by another red carpet that saw Chalamet fans come out in full force. While Venice provided Chalamet the space to take his time on the carpet, and reach out to the public for autographs and photos, the same opportunity could not have been given in Milan.

The 26-year-old actor reunites with Guadagnino, his “Call Me By Your Name” director, in “Bones and All,” starring alongside Taylor Russell as a pair of cannibal lovers on the road together. After the film’s premiere in Venice, Guadagnino was awarded the Silver Lion for Best Director by the festival’s jury, while Russell won the Marcello Mastroianni.

“Bones and All” begins a limited theatrical release in North America on November 18 before expanding to a wide release on November 23.
