God of War Ragnarok has a huge disappointment

Major spoilers for God of War Ragnarok, including details about the game’s end, follow below.

God of War Ragnarok It’s a really great game, but unfortunately it gets a bit hurt by the fact that the game is missing something that should have been in the game from the start. yes, God of War Ragnarok He does a lot right By giving Kratos the most depth we’ve seen so far, which is tricky given that many of us thought it related to the previous game. It also has a story rich with great villains, but ironically also one of the biggest problems creeps in. You see, at the end God of War (2018), the game teases that Thor is coming and will use his signature hammer, Mjolnir.

By bringing it up in a series about a man who kills other gods and does so brutally, you are planting the idea that Kratos will pick up that hammer and smash some skulls with it. However, by the end of the game, having been crushed by Mjolnir as many times as Krtaos and Atreus to a lesser extent, Thor will have one last showdown. This is where the gloves come off, as Kratos takes that hammer and shoots Thor. Of course, the story was telling us that Kratos is trying to let go of his old ways, but he may have to use this hammer to represent himself and his son.

The fight sees Kratos wrestling with the hammer in several quick time events, he wants it just as much as we do, but keeps falling back on Thor. The fight is over, Kratos does not want to kill Thor, but Odin appears and kills Thor himself. Well, cool, we know we should probably kill Odin because it’s beyond reason, so that’s for sure Avengers: EndgameA wonderful moment like when Captain America chooses Mjolnir as a last resort. No, Odin throws Mjolnir away… He’s gone. You don’t see this glorious weapon again until after the credits roll and not because you find and use it yourself.

So what the hell is this?! This is a great game and I feel good as a whole, but part of me feels a little empty. Even if we used it in one fight, it would be worth the wait. This is something everyone assumed was an inevitable outcome years ago, and Sony took a bit of a side. omnibus version of God of War Ragnarok He has a huge replica of Mjolnir, further instilling that possibility in your mind.

It’s an iconic weapon thanks to both Norse mythology and Marvel’s stifling grip on pop culture, it feels somewhat like a crime not to have it as a usable weapon. Everyone knows her strength and Kratos is no stranger to using weapons with different elemental abilities. He has a frost axe, constantly burning blades, and even a new spear that can blow air. Why not complete everything with a hammer that can fire lightning? Mjolnir could have substituted Leviathan’s axe if needed as it is similar in terms of his main attack i.e. his swing. It’s a weird oversight, because using a weapon even in the end-game content won’t take away from Kratos’ arc since there are side quests where he can kill some monsters after the game is over.

Are you disappointed in that God of War Ragnarok You are not allowed to use Mjolnir? Am I just a big kid in desperate need of fan service? Let me know in the comments or hit me up TwitterCade_Onder.
