However, there are still other factors at play in the anime adaptation as Goh and Project Mew are set to focus in the upcoming episode.
Project Mew was created in an effort to learn more about Psychic Pokemon that are rightfully considered one of the most powerful pocket monsters in the world. Realizing this fact, the head of the Rocket Team, Giovanni, and the scientists under his job created a powerful clone using Mio’s genetic material, unleashing Mutu on the world. In the first Pokemon movie, Mewtwo realized that his path to revenge and to build a world of pocket monsters by destroying humanity was misguided and recently returned in the final season of the anime. With Ash turning into the new world champion, will next season focus more on Goh and Project Mew as they search for more answers revolving around the legendary Pokemon known as Mew?

A new episode description has arrived for Episode 133 of Pokemon’s Journeys, titled “Project Mew,” which hints at Goh joining the likes of Gary and other members of the organization as they travel to the “End of the World” to learn more about the mysterious flying pocket monster:
At the same time as the finals of the Ash Masters Tournament, Goh heads to the ‘Apocalypse’ to search for Mio. Goh, Gary, Tokio, Asahi, and Tsurugi land on the island, but lose contact with Professor Hooda in the lab as their pokeballs stop working. In a desperate situation, what will be the fate of Goh and his friends as they continue their search for Miyu?”
Goh has been a worthy ally for Ash this season and it makes sense that without the help of this new coach, Ketchum might not have been able to gain the strength needed to finally beat Lyon and fulfill his dream. If Ash as the star of the anime series continues to move forward as the new world champion, it will be interesting to see if there is a place for Goh on his side or if he fades into the background in an effort to learn more about Mew.
