Edgerunners get their very own game

What comes around you definitely revolves around. Cyberpunk 2077 brought us critically acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners this year, and now the anime is ready to give back. After all, the show is about to get its own game, and fans of the Edgerunners universe will want to check it out ASAP.

In case you didn’t know, R. Talsorian Games made the big announcement earlier today. Cyberpunk will be getting a tabletop RPG revolving around the Edgerunners Universe. The game will be called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit, and it promises to shed new light on ardent anime heroes.

What we know so far

According to the game development, the board game will use exactly the same setup as Edgerunners. The RPG will run on the fourth installment of R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk base game, but this new title will be playable even without that original game. Edgerunners will feature a complete starter box set with game rules and key information from the animation production team.

Currently, the game is in development, so Edgerunners is a way to break out of the first board game. R. Talsorian says fans will be updated in the release window at a later time. And of course, players can easily catch up with the actual Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix. The 10-episode series launched this fall to elicit comments, and you can read its official synopsis below:

“The series tells a 10-episode stand-alone story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City – a city of the future obsessed with technology and body modification. Having everything to lose, he survives by becoming a warrior – an outlaw mercenary. Also known as cyberpunk.
