Bleach Cliffhanger sets up Yhwach’s true strength

Bleach: The Thousand-Year War of Blood has reached a surprising new phase in the Soul Society conquest, and the final moments of the latest episode tease out just how powerful Sternreter leader Jehoash really is at his disposal. As the new anime series begins with a mysterious enemy declaring war on the Soul Society, it is soon revealed that their leader will be a different kind of enemy the Soul Reapers dealt with. Now that the battle has fully begun, their leader is revealed to be even more deadly than one would have initially expected.

Bleach: A bloody war for a thousand yearsAnd the most recent episode of Captain Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto took on the leader of the Turnereater Yehuach by bragging about the power his Bankai had to unleash it. But as the episode ends, it is revealed that Yamamoto wasn’t a Yhwach fighter at all and instead a Sternritter leader far more powerful than what Yamamoto could handle. Now the captain is showing off what he can really do by taking out a big hitter as the ring ends.

After stealing Yamamoto’s power, Yhwach summons a giant sword made by Reishi and apparently uses it to eliminate the Captain’s Chief as the episode ends. Not only was he powerful enough to completely slip through Soul Society undetected, but he’s far more powerful than the clone we’ve seen fighting on equal terms with Yamamoto. If he’s able to take out the Captain’s Head, then it sure scares him what he can do in the upcoming episodes.
