The College Football Playoff Commission for Georgia brings great news

Georgia Bulldogs fans will love what Boo Corrigan, chair of the College Football Playoff selection committee, said after the latest rankings ahead of Week 12 were revealed.

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the only remaining undefeated teams going into Week 12 of the college football season. Once they defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 27-13 again in Week 10, it looked like they were on top of the pack to take first place in the College Football Playoff. They came close this week when they blasted Mississippi State 45-19.

On Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff selection committee kept Georgia in first place in their most recent showdown rankings. After the full top 25 list was revealed, committee chairman Boo Corrigan said something that would make a Bulldogs fan happy — that “the committee believes there’s a Georgia breakup going on.”

This is certainly great news for Georgia, as they enter the final stretch of the season, and not exactly good news for Ohio State fans who were hoping the team would jump out to first place in the playoffs.

Ohio State is one of four undefeated teams, sitting 10-0. Just two weeks ago, they played an ugly game against Northwestern, who only won one game. They have two games left in the regular season, which are Maryland next weekend, and against fellow undefeated (as of this week) Michigan Wolverines.

The Bulldogs’ remaining opponents in the regular season include the Kentucky Wildcats, who lost to Vanderbilt last week, and Georgia Tech, who have lost three of their last four games.

Once those two games are over, Georgia will move on to the SEC Championship Game on December 3 where they clinched the Eastern Division title. They will face the LSU Tigers, who clinched the West with wins over Arkansas and Alabama’s win over Ole Miss.

By sound, they will make the playoff regardless of whether or not they win the SEC Championship Game.
