After years of teasing and insinuations, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special It’s about to become a reality, as it hits Disney+ later this month. The special, which will be the second special in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is expected to keep fans hooked until next May. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, all while getting fans into the holiday spirit. Of course, the project’s place in the MCU raises the question of what other potential characters might show up – but writer-director James Gunn appears to have exposed one major debunking.
In a tweet Thursday, Gunn responded to a Twitter user’s “reaction” to the Holiday Special, who claimed the Silver Surfer was introduced in a post-credits scene. Gunn made this very clear, simply stating that it was “a mistake.”

“It will be released very soon,” Jan noted. “You know, Christmas is over. It’s not like people have to wait that long.”
