Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz Delight Day-One Fans at Amazon Music Live

Lil Wayne has long been considered one of the best rappers alive, and on Thursday (November 17), the Young Money Entertainment founder reminded everyone present at Amazon Music Live why he’s earned the title.

Hosted by 2 Chainz, their new weekly concert series, which takes place at Red Studios in Hollywood, features performances by the musical’s top acts in a live broadcast that follows directly on Thursday Night Football.

The crowd gathered for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz orchestrated via a system called Dicewhich locates Day One fans, creating a safe, intimate space for them to fully enjoy the show (despite the typical Los Angeles temperatures).

Lil Wayne’s performance featured some of his biggest hits, including the recent “GOD DID” collaboration with DJ Khaled, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Fridayy. Earlier in the week, news came that the song was nominated for two Grammy Awards – Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Also on the set list: “Mrs. Officer “A Milli” and “Lollipop”.

Unlike previous Amazon Live shows where 2 Chainz’s role included hosting, presenting, and closing shows, Lil Wayne made the Atlanta rapper perform with him on shows like “Rich As Fuck” and the nostalgic “Duffle Bag Boy” from 2007.

Lil Wayne’s performance follows on the heels of previous Amazon Music Live performances by Lil Baby, who debuted the series on Oct. 27, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kane Brown. Looking forward to future guests, Anuel AA will be performing on December 1, which is the first time a Latin artist will take the Amazon Music Live stage.
