Attack on Titan creator shares an emotional apology for the controversial ending

Attack on Titan’s Hajime Isayama recently made his first trip to North America to be a part of Anime NYC, the premier convention that features a lot of announcements for some of the big anime franchises. During his paintings delving into his past creating the Scout Regiment, Isayama revealed that he was still struggling with ending his beloved franchise and took the opportunity to apologize for the outcome. With many fans believing the ending to be highly controversial, the final episodes of the anime will adapt these manga moments next year.

This remains true to the spirit of the anime’s final season, as Eren Jaeger’s transformation into a villain was a twist that not many expected. By obtaining the power of the Founding Titan and using said power to awaken an army of Colossal Titans at his request and connection, fans shouldn’t expect a happy ending when it comes to the dark anime franchise. Considering the amount of death and destruction the series has presented, fans have to let some big names loose before Studio MAPPA’s anime adaptation gets even closer.
