The infamous AEW World Tag Team Championship to retain at Full Gear

The acclaimed AEW Full Gear arrived with all the style you’d expect, even providing two cuts to start the match instead of one, but Swerve In Our Glory wasn’t laughing and had nothing but punishment on their mind. They’d been on the same page for so long, and coupled with Bowens’ shoulder and arm injury, it looked like they were going to lose the match. But the spectators stayed in the match and never farted, and then Swerve in our Glory exploded thanks to Strickland. This caused Lee to walk out and leave Strickland on his own, and the combined strength of Custer and Bowens (plus a little help from Billy Jean) was hard to beat. The Acclaimed would win and still be the AEW Tag Team Champions.

Bowens was still in pain from his injury, but that didn’t stop him from going straight for Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland, but Strickland frequently took aim at his injury. He then set up Bowens to be crushed through a table, but Bowens was able to take on Strickland’s superplex instead. Bowens came back and hit Lee with some effective body shots, but Lee picked him up with one arm and then placed all of his body weight on Bowens’ injured arm and shoulder.

Custer returned to the ring after being thrown into the barricade, then Bowens landed some effective blows on Lee only to be headbutted by Lee. Lee then targeted the shoulder again with an elbow then Strickland tagged Bowens and scored a punch to the face.

Strickland then went to work on Bowens’ arm, slammed it into Bowens’ jeans and then bounced off the ropes with a kick that caused Bowens some serious pain. Lee lifted Bowens onto his shoulders and Custer pinned Strickland, and Bowens somehow hit a reverse twister on Lee, sending him to the mat and allowing him to tag in Custer.

Custer hit a body drop on Swerve and then hit Lee with targeted kicks, followed by a dive over the ropes on Swerve. Custer went to pick me up but that didn’t happen and Lee hit some big forearms on Custer’s ribs. Custer then climbed to the top and hit a tornado but Lee picked Custer up and put him on the top rope to hit huge slashes in the chest. Custer pushed Lee back two off the mat and then slammed his leg before hitting Swerve with a slam dunk into the cover, but he was kicked out.

Caster tagged in Bowens who hit a knee jab on Swerve and then they connected on Cutter with a cover, but Swerve popped out of the pin. Bowens tried to lift Swerve but couldn’t, then Swerve threw Bowens into his partner, knocking him off the apron. Bowens then sent Swerve over the ropes but Lee prevented his partner from falling. Then Custer was on top and hit a body that put Lee into the guardrail. Bowens had Swerve in the ring and hit a DDT to the cover, but Swerve kicked it out.

Bowens and Swerve dodged each other but Swerve hit a Flatliner on Bowens, then delivered an uppercut to the head into cover but Bowens kicked. Swerf hit another kick to the head and then followed it up with a third, but Bowens did not relent. Swerve then pointed at the camera and hit another kick to the head but Bowens still got off. Swerve dragged Bowens into the corner and got to the top on the Swerve Stomp, but lost his footing thanks to Bowens. He came back and went for a stomp but missed and hit Bowen’s Reach and then tagged Cutter, who hit a Mic Drop and nearly got the pin but Lee broke it at the last minute.

Caster kicked Lee out of the ring and then lifted Swerve but he kicked Bowens in the face and hit Caster’s brain, though he didn’t get all of it. Lee and his clothes are tagged on Caster twice. Then he lunged at Custer and tossed him across the ring. Lee then hit Bowens to the other side of the ring. Swerve climbed to and hit the step but Custer kicked it out at the last minute.

Lee tagged Swerve in and then lifted Caster, but he landed a few punches and then tagged in Bowens, even though Lee didn’t see it. Lee Bowens kicked with his free leg and then the Custer force bombed over Bowens, and they rolled to the outside. He then threw a deflection with Custer into the tables on the side and grabbed some tongs. He went and pulled Custer and he was by the hand, but Billy Gunn came out and made the save, even though he hated a kick from Swerve. Swerve showed me the clippers and looking annoyed, he tossed them both aside. Swerf slapped him and they were in each other’s face.

Lee grabbed Bowens and patted him on the back before walking out on Swerve, leaving him alone in the ring. Bowens spun him out but he was thrown out. Bowens hit another kick to the face and Swerve locked the move but reversed it. Bowens made the tag and didn’t see Swerve, and Caster hit a quickie on Swerve. They knocked out the finalist and it was for Swerve, and the acclaimed retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
