Rick and Morty brings back the leading villain season 6

Rick and Morty Season 6 has been a hit with fans so far due to how well it cares about the overall sequel to the rest of the series, and even though the final episode is a far cry from the rest of the season, there’s still a pretty big payback with the return of one of the main villains in Season 4! The first half of the season shook things up a bit for Rick and the Smith family since they’ve been working without the Gates, but that limiter already seems to have been torn apart in recent episodes.

Rick and Morty Season six is back for the final episodes of the season, and episode seven “Full Meta Jackrick” does as its title suggests and flips the entire episode structure on its head as the titular duo escape the confines of the fourth wall. . Soon after, they also made their way into a meta-narrative space outside the series’ writing confines, encountering an old enemy, Story Lords.

Who is Story Lord?

Story Lord first appeared in the fourth season episode, “Never Ricking Morty” as a toy version of the titular duo who discover they are stuck on a “Story-Train” that traps them inside a circular story structure. It’s only revealed to be a game bought by the real Rick and Morty, so their reunion with Story Lord comes with a helpful reminder that this villain never really met the real versions of them but still holds a grudge about what the game versions of them did.

His return in “Full Meta Jackrick” sees him fleeing back into the series to confront his creator and the embodiment of his goal, which is to find the drive to obtain a goal. This is soon warped to the point where he becomes stronger by stealing the entire world’s motivations, thus leading to a full-on confrontation against Rick that will potentially take this villain off the board for the future of the series. But it’s a fun callback to one of the lead characters…also Christopher Meloni of Jesus Christ.
