warning! The following contains spoilers from The Masked SingerSeason 8 episode “Fright Night”. Read at your own risk!
The Masked Singer He spent a lot of performers at a fast pace This season feels scary, so it’s only fitting that the final theme before the Season 8 semi-final round is “Fright Night.” This episode showed the creepy and scary side of the Fox competition and revealed some of the names that have connections to the horror genre such as Exorcist an actress Linda Blair (scarecrow), And the Ghostbusters Singer Ray Parker Jr (sir boo). None of the actors were able to beat Blizzard and advance to the semi-finals, despite their talented performance. Both contestants made it look easy, but as Ray Parker Jr. assured me in his interview with CinemaBlend, it’s not.
It is not uncommon to see an accomplished and even Grammy Award-winning singers have been eliminated From The Masked SingerAnd, as Ray Parker Jr. pointed out in our interview before the elimination episode, there’s a good reason for that. I asked Ghostbusters Singer whether there was a difference between performing outside of costume in rehearsals and in costume during the episode, and confirmed that it was a big difference:
Night and day. I mean, performing in costume, you’re sexy as hell. And then when the lights come on it’s twice as hot. So now you’re twice as hot, [and] You’re trying to read the brooder so you can remember the lyrics to a song that’s not yours. And then you can’t read that either because the headgear keeps moving. It’s good that they have a lot of rehearsals because you kind of learn the song early on… I could see a little bit of a teleprompter, but it was like I did that in my head twenty times and so I got the lyrics and I know it now and it’s [like] My own song now.
Fashion is an essential piece for The Masked SingerAnd, based on what I learned from Ray Parker Jr., it might also be a great equalizer between the contestants in each episode. Perhaps this is why seasons past have seen untrained singers like the NFL star Rob Gronkowski lasts The singing talent is bona fide Such as Dionne Warwick.
There is something to be said about how well one can handle the pressure of performing in uncomfortable conditions, and with that reasoning, I can see how a professional athlete might have an advantage in this area. I’m not sure if there is a solution to this problem, or if it requires a fix, but it seems like something The Masked SingerViewers should be mindful when watching.
The eliminations of Ray Parker Jr. and Linda Blair meant that Snowstorm advanced to the semi-finals, and will compete against lambs And the harp For a chance to finally appear. as such Polarization as coordinated this season Ho, there’s no denying that he still found the best singers of the season to duel in the finale!
It is also worth noting The Masked Singer History made after this episode, as that would be it For the first time in the show’s history It’s guaranteed to be an all-female finale. The competition guys haven’t quite cut it with the voters this season, and I’m not sure you can blame it on form.
I will say though, that fashion probably takes some of the blame, especially for those with grueling ensembles like Ray Parker Jr. I’m not sure about all The season eight contestant was eliminated Their uniforms can be blamed on their performance, but I have to take this season back with me Hulu subscription To be sure.
The Masked Singer Reached the semi-finals on FoxAnd, thankfully, fans won’t have to wait that long to see it. Check in on Fox on Thursday, November 24 at 8:00 PM ET, right after some Thanksgiving food, to find out who will be the final contestants in the Season 8 finale.
