Rick and Morty Star Respond to Jerry’s Big Victories in Season 6 (Exclusive)

Rick and Morty Season six added new traditions for each member of the Smith family, but perhaps no character has gone through more than Jerry, the paternal member of the family who remains unemployed and can never quite get his life together. With the first episode setting up a big reveal when it comes to which universe Jerry Smith is in, Nick Valdez had the chance to chat with the voice of Jerry himself, Chris Parnell, who you might also recognize. Jerry’s turn in the first episode of this latest season revealed that this version of Jerry was accidentally blasted from another universe, with Rick and Morty taking home the character’s misrepresented version of “Jerry Day Care,” a language used by the mad scientist. After this season’s premiere, Jerry has to deal with his wife falling in love with the alternate version of her, Space Beth, as well as having to fall through an uncomfortable horror scenario involving his mother and the future that his fortune cookie dictates to him.

Chris Parnell had this to say when it comes to the wins the Smith Clan Chief has seen this season, along with the mind-blowing revelations that have Jerry having to step up to the plate a little more than in previous seasons:

“That was really fun because Jerry was so much darker and darker than he usually is. And that was an interesting aspect of seeing him, so I loved that. And then we all got to be really nerdy and that was really fun. But, yeah, who It’s always good to see Jerry win because Jerry can be so pathetic sometimes. So seeing him get a little bit of a win is satisfying as the guy playing Jerry, and then as a fan.”
