Stranger Things Season 5 to use unused ideas from Season 2

Netflix’s first season Weird things was a massive success, which led series creators Matt and Ross Duffer, along with their writers, to pitch a number of ideas for what to explore in Season 2, and while many of those concepts were scrapped, the Duffers confirmed that some of those ideas were salvaged. and incorporated into the upcoming final season of the series. This certainly sparks speculation among fans about elements that were only teased and not fully explored, but knowing that there are similarities to this beloved story has the potential to inspire excitement among fans. The last season of Weird things It likely won’t premiere on Netflix until 2024.

Ross Duffer explained that “the success of the first season just blew us away, and then we knew we needed to build this bigger world, and that this was going to continue.” Netflix’s Tudum. That means preparing for season two involved filling out a whiteboard with every idea the writers’ room could imagine. But it was just too much — [five times] More ideas than we need, or [ten times]. For Season 5, we’re drawing a lot of big Season 2 ideas… A lot of the big finale things were pulled from things we thought were going to be in Season 2. “

While the Duffers had been planning for years for how long the series would run, when a second season was being developed, it seemed like the sky was the limit on their ideas. With only one batch of episodes left, that means the narrative will likely be stifled to give a satisfying sendoff, unlike the way previous seasons opened up the upside-down world of Hawkins, Indiana, in unexpected ways.

Bringing in ideas from the series’ second season isn’t the only way in the upcoming final season to pay homage to the franchise’s origins, as the Duffers previously indicated that season five will mirror the first.

“[Season 5]“The way we see it, it’s kind of a culmination of all the seasons, so he kind of gets a little bit out of each season,” Ross Duffer participated in a FYC event earlier this month. While pre-season was very special… [Season] 3 is our big summer season with big monsters, and [Season] 4 was a psychological horror. I think what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit, in a kind of 1-tone.”

Stay tuned for details about the future Weird things.
