Everything Jerry Jones has said about Odell Beckham Jr’s interest

Jerry Jones has been open about his and the Dallas Cowboys’ interest in free agent future Odell Beckham Jr. Here is what the owner had to say about it.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been both open and candid regarding his interest in signing Odell Beckham Jr. Join Team America. On the other hand, he was very cautious about what those talks and/or negotiations entailed.

After Dallas’ big win over the Giants on Thanksgiving Day to move to 8-3 on the season, though, Jones once again had some comments about OBJ and a potential move to the Cowboys.

This time, however, he had some very juicy information, especially with the news that Beckham is set to start visiting teams, including Dallas, in early December before signing anywhere.

Cowboys: Everything Jerry Jones Said About Chasing Odell Beckham Jr

Before we get there, we have to go back to earlier in the week when Jones was talking about wide receiver. When asked if “money or health” was more important in conversations between a player and a team, Jones refused to answer directly and said, “If you can improve this team right now and that’s within reason, you should do it. And we have a chance.”

So the Cowboys owner clearly believes the franchise is in the process of signing OBJ. Which brings us to after the Thanksgiving game when Jones deftly dropped a nugget that he and Beckham met that day and had a “good” meeting.

However, returning to the question about health, Jones was asked if he thought OBJ could play this season. This was something he seemed unwilling to answer, but it would also make sense if Beckham hadn’t visited the team and his facilities in Frisco yet.

What is clear, however, is that Jones is working hard to try and make this deal happen. And while the Cowboys’ owner often talks, whenever he’s playing around with a theme like this and has a business behind it, something usually gets done, which must be an optimistic sign for fans.
