The Bleach Creator details his involvement in the Thousand Year Blood War anime

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has already had some moments that played out very differently than they did in the manga’s event versions, and as a result, the creator has opened up about how involved they were in the production of this new series! It’s been over a decade since the original anime adaptation was shortened, meaning fans have been waiting a long time to see how the final installment of Tite Kubo’s original manga gets into motion. As it turns out, this also includes Kubo himself among those awaiting the anime’s return.

Kubo is at a much different stage as a creator than he was all those years ago, and it turns out that the creator is pretty much involved at every stage of the process. He talks about it in a recent interview about the production of the series (As spotted by @shonenleaks on Twitter), Kubo often makes many suggestions to the director and staff of the new anime on how to better showcase the work and take advantage of the overall story flow.

How does the creator of Bleach help with the new anime?

“The first step is to determine the general flow and how much of each story will be included in each episode,” Kubo began explaining by taking part in the new series. “He was at that stage composing the series. At that time, I also informed them of my requests. For example, I told them that they could cut comic scenes as they saw fit. In sound animation, if the comic is the same as the original work, it will ruin the atmosphere.” Then we check the script for each episode and tell them, ‘I want this part to be like this,’ or ‘I want this scene included,’ etc. Appropriately, I wonder if it’s okay for me to be so stubborn.”

Kubo seems to play a huge role in the making of each new episode, so now’s a good time to catch up on the new series to see how much influence the creator has on the anime’s big comeback!
