Key running injuries, along with penetration from the Jets’ freshman quarterback, highlight this week’s top fantasy football picks.

The regular fantasy football season is coming to an end with only two weeks before most leagues finish before the playoffs begin. Securing the right catches can be critical to teams in the bubble, so checking the wire each week to grab the best players available can not only help your team, but prevent your opponents from getting the help they need.

As we do every week (with percentages listed available based on Hey ho! Leagues), let’s break down the top fantasy football picks available for Week 13. The running back was a big topic in Week 12, so let’s start with one who might be up for a bigger opportunity in New York.

5. Fantasy Football Pickup of the Week 13 – New York Jets RB Zonovan Knight

The Jets offense exploded after Zach Wilson was benched in favor of Mike White, who unlocks talented skill position players who have been hampered by the struggles of the No. 2 pick in the 2021 draft. One player who could play a bigger role is rookie running back Zonovan “Bam” Knight, who was active Sunday after the team decided to make James Robinson a healthy scratch.

Knight displayed some rushing for the Jets in Week 12, rushing 14 times for 69 yards in New York’s 31-10 win over the Chicago Bears. One of the main reasons the Knights’ workload was so heavy was because Jets quarterback Michael Carter suffered an ankle injury in the second half and did not return to the game.

If Carter misses time, that opens up a massive opportunity for Knight, who is available in more than 99 percent of the leagues, to take up a significant portion of the balls on the first offense. There’s a risk Robinson and Ty Johnson, who scored in Week 12, could be involved in a committee, but Knight’s outburst makes it worth speculating.
