Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had to leave Sunday Night Football against the Eagles with an apparent knee injury.
The Packers’ 2022 worries got a little heavier Sunday night as quarterback Aaron Rodgers was out of the game against the Eagles with an injury.
Rodgers was already playing through a thumb injury. At one of them in Philadelphia, he received a painful blow to the ribs and looked visibly hurt.
After leaving for the locker room, he returned, dressed in military uniform, to the sideline. What was a diagnosis of “questionable” return very quickly turned towards “exit”.
Aaron Rodgers injury update: Packers QB is out with a slash injury, he won’t be back
With Rodgers out, the Packers will be back in support of Jordan Love. Some Green Bay fans may not be bothered by that. Given his thumb injury, occasional poor play and general team struggles, many have been calling for Love to get the chance to lead the team for the time being.
Now Love will get his chance to impress him. Or it will show the team and fans that he is not the future of the franchise. Either way, there is a potential upside to Rodgers having to get out.
Unfortunately for Love, his opportunity to make an impact was limited. The Eagles led 37-23 by the time he entered the game.
