Rick and Morty surprises fans with a content warning ahead of the new Season 6 episode

Rick and Morty It may have touched on all kinds of wild, adult-oriented themes in the six seasons of the series so far, but the most recent episode really surprised fans when it opened with a warning about its specific content about suicide in the heaviest episode of the season (and the series) so far. Rick and Morty Explore Rick’s dark feelings in the past with some of the most memorable moments in the series so far, but the latest season 6 episode took this to a new twist by having Rick react to another character’s darker feelings.

It was an episode that dealt with some really heavy topics that season six hadn’t addressed before, and the beginning of episode eight, “Analyze Piss,” kicked off a warning to fans choosing to avoid media that explores elements of suicide, and more serious conversations. For this Rick and Morty And Adult Swim was keen to warn fans a lot with the opening message, “The next episode contains powerful conversations and perceptions of suicide that may be disturbing for viewers.”

Why does Rick and Morty have a content warning?

“Analyze Piss,” despite the ridiculous nature of the villain, and the ridiculous name of the main villain Pissmaster, explores the topic of suicide in very real ways with not only a character taking her own life, but Rick being implicated in the aftermath of such an act. It’s an upsetting conversation to think that previous seasons have seen Rick attempt suicide, and while those episodes didn’t carry the same warnings at the time, they’re much more serious this time around as there was actual death and the consequences that stem from it.

However, it wasn’t just about the warning as the episode follows Rick and Morty And Adult Swim also shared a message telling those experiencing these feelings to reach for help, “If you or someone you know is suffering or is in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org” so it helps. To confirm that these topics were not included carelessly or for jest purposes only.
