Wed creator breaks down the weird submission process of something

The Thing has been a staple of the Addams Family since the shocking characters were first introduced decades ago. Because of his high profile among the likes of Wednesday, Gomez, Morticia, and the rest of the Addams clan, this meant that the character was always meant to be a part of Tim Burton. Wednesday Series on Netflix. Not only that, but the character was portrayed in action, with one of the actors stepping into the role to serve as the famous body part.

as such Wednesday Authors Alfred Goff and Miles Millar revealed that Thing’s role in the series was written in the early parts of development, so there was never an idea not to include the character. Furthermore, the crew was able to find a Romanian magician to step into the role due to his close quarters abilities.

“He’s a Romanian magician who does card tricks, basically. So he’s incredibly skilled. We’ve done a lot of testing of hand people. Tim [Burton] He was very involved in this matter. He was kind of obsessed with the thing. Millar said in a recent conversation with diverse. “In our studio, they really had an ancient Roman puppet theater of Roman TV shows with puppets. And so they would rehearse in that puppet theater and go back and watch what he was doing. So it was very convoluted and intentional in terms of making it feel weirdly convoluted and real.”

Since they were able to get a working actor for it, instead of doing it entirely CGI on Thing, Millar added that it allowed for a more emotional outcome.

The writer added, “I think that moment when I saw the pole stabbed was a risk, because we wanted it to be — for Wednesday — very emotionally devastating.” In the wrong hands, he could have been incredibly cheesy and like, ‘Oh, my God, really? But I think it really works because of Jenna’s performance, and because you really do that at that point you think he’s conscious, that he has feelings and all that stuff. It was a risk we took, and I think it paid off.”
